More Than Just Fleas In The Carpet
We treat general pests. We don’t treat is termites but recommend trusted professionals to carry out this type of service.
- Cockroaches
- Ants
- Spiders
- Wasps
- Mice
- … general everyday pests.
Of course they are not really all pests, just when they come and want to share our homes with us.
Often while doing a carpet clean we can also complete a general pest treatment. This is often a requirement for bond cleans when people are moving out of rental property. Instead of calling in a carpet cleaner and a pest controller, we are licensed to carry out both which means a saving in cost and time.
We can do both at the same time so when completed, the property is ready to be rented again (usually the carpet clean is the last party of a bond clean).
How Often Should A Pest Treatment Be Carried Out?
Twelve months is what is recommended to ensure maximum effectiveness to keep creepy crawlies and pests away. A Pest Treatment can be carried out at the same time as carpet cleaning. It is best to put a recurring reminder in your calendar so it doesn’t slip by.
Are Pest Treatment Chemicals Safe?
The chemicals we use are all safe, ouderless and allergy free. There is no need to leave while the treatment is being applied.
Once the treatment has been completed don’t go cleaning up. If you see any dead cockies, just brush them into a dustpan, don’t wipe the surfaces down because you will be wiping away the treatment.
Don’t wipe or clean the edges and the skirting boards because that’s where most of the pest treatment is done. Cockies always run to an edge (which is why the pest treatment is sprayed in that area) and follow that edge looking to crawl under something.
If you clean the edges when you are mopping the pest treatment is gone. For as long as you can, stay a couple of centimetres away from the edge when cleaning and mopping.
What Is Involved With A Pest Treatment?
We spray all the corners and the edges inside and outside the property, then dust the roof for cockies and spiders – that’s called fogging. Fog the roof and it spreads right through the roof which kills the insects.
Then we gel the kitchen (which many pest controllers don’t do). The Gel is applied along the sides of the cupboards and inside the cupboards. It is just a little bit of gel about the size of a matchstick head or a pinhead. It is just enough for a cockie to eat.
With our pest treatments there is no smell, it is safe for people, pets and animals, but kills and keeps the pests away.
A pest treatment should be completed annually.
A Simple Solution To Keep The Creepy Crawlies Away
Ants
There a lot of things you can do yourself without having to worry about pest control. Fort example, don’t wipe the benches, cupboards, floors. If spray to kill ants and wipe up the ants when they are dead, the respray the surface. Ants are going to want to come back, Respraying a clean surface will keep them away.
Cockroaches
One bloke in a unit had cockies and was a bad sleeper. He’d get up in the middle of the night, come out and turn on the lights in his high rise, and saw cockies everywhere. He would go around spraying them, hitting them, kicking them, all the rest. Then he would clean it up, go back to bed. The next night, he’d get up do the same thing all over again because they came are back.
What did he do that kept them coming back? He clean up. Next night the cockies are back out, and nothing to stop them. So I told him to respray the surfaces after he cleaned up. When I went back to his place for a carpet clean 12 months later he said that advice was the “best thing ever”.
